Patience can be helpful when we are trying to put off short term gratification for long term gain. It is necessary, in order to get what we want and need from life, to put off short term gratification. When we are faced with a temptation, we are filled with the thoughts, visions and hormones that tell us to reach out and take the bait. It is best not to take it. Whatever it may be, whether it's masturbation, drugs, fast food or any form of dissociation, its best to feel the sensations occurring in the body, to reason with the thoughts that run through our minds, and resist giving in. In the moment this feels like a kind of agony, but this sensation fades, as is the nature of emotions.
There are times when a little short term gratification is both productive and healthy. I'm not suggesting we give up all of it. What we should resist are those temptations that will result in the degradation of our mind, and the dissociation of our selves from the truth. If we're on holiday after a good year of work, there is no harm in indulging in dissociative foods. If we've had a productive week, there's no harm in watching a movie. If its part of relaxing, rejuvenating or of fun in a proper setting, then there is no harm in it.
For the rest of the time, we benefit from being patient with ourselves and other people. We benefit from not being overly focused on the end goal and from getting experience in the real world. Our forefathers endured great agonies over long periods of time in order to give us what we have today, when we do the same for the progress of civilisation, we honour them. We make our own contribution when we withhold our desire to 'use up' the resources gathered by previous generations. We do a service to our own when we add to the stock pile, rather than take away from it. This is not easy work. Especially because we are in a welfare-state bubble at present. Everything appears limitless and infinite; because the government are printing counterfeit money at never-before-seen rates. The challenge of today is to resist this fake abundance for the longer-term & more sustainable vision of providing for future family through the generations.
Steven Franssen’s previous offering “Make Self Knowledge Great Again - The Art & Principles of Self Knowledge” was, in my opinion, a bible for apprentice philosophers & future peaceful parents. So, when I heard about his latest offering ‘Rise & Fight - Defeat Globalism & Save the West” I was very keen to read the book.
Rise & Fight is a short & concise book, loaded with truths, wisdom and strategies oriented towards winning in the Culture War. It speaks as much to the choices we can make in our personal lives as it does to taking political action on the public stage. It’s a ‘lightning rod’ of enlightenment for the young Western male to the responsibilities of fighting for the West. Throughout the book, we are encouraged to adopt a balanced approach to winning the culture war. We are recommended the path of Self Knowledge, to learn philosophy & to work out - in order to debase our enemies. We are encouraged to crush the establishment media, the SJW’s and the Globalist’s puppets using the very same tactics they use on us..
The books message is further strengthened by its inclusion of interviews from other experts in the field including Tara McCarthy, Mark Collett, Bre Faucheux, Pamela Geller & Julian Langness; The interviews add a welcomed conversational dynamic. We are treated to exclusive tips on how to build our own platforms, how to survive enemy attacks, strength training & how to prepare for a life in the public eye.
Whilst ‘Rise & Fight’ is an intense read - there’s also heaps of optimism, humour and positivity throughout the book:
“Drug abusers who have gone so far down into their own personal oblivions that they need government clinics to shoot up are people who have about as much chance at voting right wing again as I have at winning a Stanley Cup with a team of well-trained rabbits.”.
Who said war can’t be fun?
What’s most compelling about the work is Steven’s effort toward putting forward solutions and strategies, rather than repeating the problems we in the West are facing again and again. No black pills here! It’s packed with value; And Steven’s background in psychology and teaching shines through on every page.
This book is for the pro-active (or soon to become pro-active!). If you want to be overwhelmed into inertia by a tidal wave of black pills, this book isn’t for you. If you are ready to take a stand and adopt strategies in your personal life that will save the west, this book is for you. My advice is to buy this book, absorb every word, then share it with your allies. We will all be better off for it.
We are in a war with the globalists. And Steven has stepped forward as Sergeant.
When we join our aims with another who shares common goals, we create a bond. When both commit to achieving those goals together, the potential for love is created. When we do commit, we are loving one another.
Love is a consistent way of being with another who shares your goals and aspirations. It is to provide to one another, in service of those goals. The more virtue the goals require, the more loving the relationship is. There may be a small amount of love in 2 people working to rob a 7/11, but it’s not likely much..
Love is steady and paced. It is a journey of growth. The gradual building of trust, coupled with empathy and improved service to one another is at the centre of loving bonds. Each person witnesses the growing courage in one another.
To obtain a loving relationship, one must first gear themselves towards virtue - towards making the world a better place. One must pursue self responsibility. One must seek to be innocent. From this, the ability to choose and the courage to act in service of good will manifest.
Love is as much about sacrifice as it is about gaining. Love will not jump out at us like the movies tell us it will - Love will gently and gradually enliven us, if we choose to be open and curious about it.
Addictions are a source of widespread misery. They distract us from solving our problems, sometimes, for our entire lives. We shame ourselves about our inability to ‘quit’ & the cycle continues.
What’s the way out? Can we tackle these addictions and end the cycle for good?
This essay will attempt to lay out the cause(s) of addiction, and a method to end it.
The first step to quitting addiction is to identify that there is a problem with the addictive behaviour. A rationalisation of smoking as "social" or "the way to gain street cred" will perpetuate smoking. It’s only the realisation that smoking is a means of distraction from a problem, that will enable the next step of quitting to be taken..
Step two is to understand what the problem is that's being avoided - This is usually an uncomfortable emotion, such as fear, loneliness, anger or guilt. Once the problem is realised, the next step can be taken.
Step 3 is to understand the cause of the uncomfortable emotion. This is the most challenging part of the quitting process. This step involves mining for Self-Knowledge. Why do the emotions come up? In what situation do they arise? What links does the current situation that they arise in have to ones childhood? What is the root cause of that emotional discomfort? - It’s likely that the emotional discomfort is caused by trauma in childhood.
Once the root cause is established, grieving can occur with the power of will and empathy. Overtime, responsibility can be reclaimed and conscious steps can be taken to remove the "catalysts" that trigger the addictive impulses - I.e toxic people, drugs & unrealistic expectations of ones self.
Quitting requires commitment not to the quitting itself, but to empathising with oneself from when one was an infant, to the present day, and into the future, through the process of Self-Knowledge.
Boundaries - why are they important?
Fight after fight occurs within marriages, friendships and parent-child relationships. Our happiness levels are at their highest when we are ‘in sync’ with those who are close with us. Trust is a central pillar of a relationship, along with negotiation, empathy and win win outcomes.
This essay will demonstrate the processes & utility in a properly boundaried relationship.
Principles of a properly boundaried relationship:
If these principles are accepted, a relationship can blossom and will last a lifetime. I know in practise its not that easy, but these goals aren't unrealistic.
Stefan Molyneux’s book ‘Real Time Relationships’ sites that emotions can be understood through group discussion. In other words, when a person feels sad, bringing that sadness up with a friend and deciphering its meaning together. This is a dynamic that holds no boundaries, because all subjective theories can be brought to the table, and the less dominant person is vulnerable to manipulation. If one person is less ‘clued up’ then the relationship can only operate at that level. That’s really all there is to it.
A person does well to share their emotional state only wen they have knowledge of its origin - its root cause. 99% of the time, the root is in childhood. Which means that only emotional material that has been previously grieved or processed is fit for discussion with a friend or romantic partner. To clarify, one can speak of unresolved issues if they are referred to as such, along with a clear boundary that the cause of which are not up for discussion - This is the job of a hired professional. Friendships and romantic relationship are not sustainable when emotional issues are being ‘worked on’.
It takes an enormous amount of energy, empathy, self control and knowledge of ones own issues to help someone out an emotional rut - one only payable through a monetary fee and within a professional relationship.
Let’s keep personal relationships healthy and assume responsibility for our own emotions & issues.
All political movements are fleeting. Once a movement has achieved its goal of bringing a discussion to the forefront of society, it becomes obsolete.
Political movements that have served their purpose seem to go one of two ways: They either fizzle out or they are hijacked by nihilists (virtue signalers) who leech off the glory of the victorious and the brave by masquerading as one of them in order to extract value from ignorant people. The actions of the true victors are idolised in the zeitgeist for a while after the victory itself … and it is here that the nihilists seek to mimic them.
Involvement in political movements can be exciting and highly stimulative. We are bombarded with memes, tweets & videos that slate the other ‘side’. It can be alluring to slip into identifying with one over the other. But a focus primarily on the ‘team’ aspect rather than on the ideas themselves leads to corruption because the principles of either ‘side’ are not rooted in first principles.
For instance: ‘Traditionalism’ is not a principle to identify with. Some traditions are brutal and barbaric and should be abolished. Likewise ‘Progression’ is not a principle to identify with either; We have tried-and-tested methodologies that have produced the greatest civilisations on earth, and thus should remain in use.
To clarify, I am fully supportive of camaraderie. This essay is not to put down the sense of Unity that comes about when a politcal campaign is justly succeeding.
If we withhold our urge to identify with either side and instead remain focused on the ideas themselves, we are sober in the face of propaganda. We are in far less danger of being sucked in to the manipulations of the nihilists and will waste far less of our precious time contending with them. We will have the inner resources to hold secure psychological boundaries with them.
AT "A NIGHT FOR FREEDOM", NEW YORK, 20/01/2018
(DISCLAIMER: I have made a handful of subtle edits to improve coherence in written form).
How much of your day is spent fighting the fight? Here is the problem: They are making more crazy people than we can fix. It's a conveyor belt. We've got daycare, no breastmilk, we've got toddler psychopaths and we've got a bunch of really indifferent people that would rather be on their cell phones than changing a diaper; We've got government schools, we've got the media, we've got public school. They're breaking people faster than we can fix them.
So what does this mean?
It means that we better start making some friends. I do a lot of fighting, you do a lot of fighting; But statistically, if all we do is fight, we are going to lose. Trump went out and made some friends. And I'm sure he held his nose a little bit. So I am going to talk a little bit about the Love, and the making of friends, that we can bring to the world, because we need it.
There is an amazing energy in this room, its amazing. But this room is not the world. We need to try and find a way to bring the love and the beauty that's in this room out into the world. Nietzsche says: “Be careful when you fight monsters that you do not yourself become a monster, for when you look into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you.”. I am concerned that we spend so much time fighting, that what we aren't telling people what we are fighting for. What are we fighting for? FREEDOM! (Crowd cheers 'Freedom!”). I'm going to be really presumptuous; And I am going to tell you what that looks like. The soldier does not fight because he hates what is in front of him, he fights because he loves what is behind him. So I am going to give you guys a vision of what it is we are fighting for. Because, if we can sell people on that vision; If we can sell people on why we fight, then we won't just look like angry people who hate everything. We're going to show what we are fighting for. You tell me what you think..
I would like to wake up in the morning without feeling like I am being replaced. That would be nice. - I would like wake up in the morning and not be on the bi-polar rollercoaster of checking bitcoin - but thats another story. I Would like to trade with people in the world who wish to trade with me. It's a little thing! I would like to offend people without fearing for my life. And to our good friends down stairs I say: Let us pass unmolested and you can say whatever crazy sht you want in the morning! I would like to see happier families in the world. I would like to be out with my wonderful daughter and see something other than people scrolling on their electronic devices with a child hanging from them in the cold. I would like to see the freedom to be home to raise your own children. Women, you know the shtty deal that was offered to women. The government says:
“Women – you don't have to be dependent on a man (well, a politician!), but not a husband who loves you. You can forgo the wonderful ability to take a life from a little pac-man heartbeat deep in your womb, raise that child to be a sion of Western Civilisation. To implant values and truth and beauty and a love for justice in that child..You don't need that! Because you can sit in a fluorescent office and fill out your reports..And thats going to be beautiful for you!
..No children! No loving husband! But don't worry..You'll get double the money for your family. Oh, no you wont, we just raised your taxes! And make sure that you don't have too many children. Because children are bad for the environment. We don't need children...oh wait..yes we do! Let's open the gates to the third world! Psych!”.
That is one of the worst psychs in human history.
I would love to live in a world where we really need each other again. I dislike the welfare state for just about every conceivable reason, but what I hate the most about it is that we don't need each other anymore. We don't need communities. Old people don't need their own kids anymore because they can just disappear into the shadows of old age pensions. We don't need each other anymore! We don't talk to each other anymore! We don't know each other! Everybody is isolated in these vertical pillars of government subsidies. If we have a free society without the state doing its horrible social engineering eugenics of the welfare state, we actually need each other again. And wouldn't you like to wake up in the morning and feel needed and valued as part of a community again? (Crowd cheers). Lord be!..that would be wonderful.
And I will tell you somethin else - and for those of you that know my beliefs on religion, this may come as a surprise - I want to go back to Church. Did you grow up going to church? Where else did you ever talk about things that mattered? Where else did you ever talk about virtue, the soul, your future, goodness? I want a place where we can congregate and talk about things that matter, things that are important, things that are valuable, things that give us purpose and meaning and joy. Because if you don't have virtue you can't have love. Virtue is the price you pay to get into the cathedral called Love. And do you know why they don't want us here together? Do you know why they don't want us talking? Because they don't want us to know truth! Because they don't want us to know virtue, so that we can never know love! I want to go to church and I want there to be...not “my truth”, not “your truth”, not “his truth”, not “that genders truth”, not “that races truth”. I want there to be one truth! And that truth is a process - We agree to submit to reason and evidence, then we can all join together under the clear blue sky of philosophy and get along for the first time in human history.
They say, the races cant get along. Don't believe it. Back in the day, Europe went through 300 years of religious warfare after the printing press, after Zwinglians, Anabaptists, Calvinists, you name it. And they fought like hell. What were they fighting for? They were fighting for control of the state. Because the state was in control of religion. So if you win and you get control of the state you can use the power of the state to smash your religious opponents and competitors. How did we solve that? Separation of church and state! When was the last time there was a religious war after the separation of church and state? Never. It doesn't happen. How about this..
The separation of race and state.
None of this “We are all going back to our corners”..that's not going to happen. With separation of church and state, separation of gender and state, separation of race and state, everyone can get along! Because there are no winners or losers. We can all negotiate. We can all get along. Which means some of the stuff that the left really likes - the race politics, the affirmative action, all of the injustice that is perpetuated between the races - Gone Baby! Deep in the rear view. That is something I would really like. I think that would be wonderful. And history shows that it can work. It works beautifully. And I want that for everyone so that we can start to appreciate each other as human beings and stop seeing each other as categories for political power.
Everyone says that their movement is all about 'Peace, love and freedom', but our movement actually has the reason and the evidence and the philosophy behind this and we know how to get there. If we can sell a vision of people happy in their families, if we can sell a vision of people able to take the necessary steps not just to fall in love, but to stay in love, to get all the joys and fruits of community, of family, of peaceful parenting, of a peaceful world, of trade, of prosperity, of growth and a sustainable society.. Aren't you sick and tired of this stupid cycle? ”Hey look, we have freedoms! We can be wealthy! Oh no, the government is taking over everything! We have so much money that they can use as it as debt and leverage and borrowing and unfunded liabilities!”. Over and over, this stupid cycle. And the only way to break the cycle is..Freedom!
So given that they are making more crazy people than we can fix, the only way that we can win is to tell people what we are fighting for! Freedom, Peace, Truth, Beauty, Reason, Evidence & Love! Yes, the love that sustains us and makes every day a treasure. If we can sell the vision of what we want, people will be interested in what we say. If we can sell them the vision of where we want to get to & how happy we could all be & how peaceful and sustainable the world could be, then people will be interested in how we can get there and what we have to say in the here and now.
Now the left says “If you give everything up to the government you get peace, you get security, you get free healthcare, you get student debt forgiveness”. So they are selling something - Its a childish fantasy of amniotic sack indifference to maturity - but its something! If all we are is “Punch! Punch! Fight! Fight! Hate! Anger!” then we become a caricature & a stereotype that they can exploit. And that's not really what we're about. We don't love the fight. We love what's on the other side of the fight. If you get stuck with some horrible illness and you fight that illness..Why do you fight it? You fight it for everything you want to do after you are cured. You fight it because after you get cured you want to write a symphony, you want to write a book, you want to build a sail boat! What do you want to do in a free world? (Crowd answers). We all have a vision of what we want to do when the fight is over. Let us not fall in love with the fight. Let us not be consumed by the fight, but remember. How did the Three Wise Men find their way to Jesus? They followed the lights. They followed the Star. We need to be that light. Fight? Yes – we need to fight. But let us ignite ourselves into the passion of possibility of what a free world could look like so that people will say: “I don't know what they are on, but I want some of that!”. I am not going to ask you to promise me, but I would like it if you thought about this; That tomorrow and the day after you are going to go out there and say: “Let me tell you what I want. Let me tell you what we could have. Let me tell you what the world could be if we're free!”. And that way, when you fight, people will know not that you fight, but what you are fighting for! And then they will join in that love of the possibility of human freedom and your fight will make sense. You wont be angry. You will be hopeful. And frustrated at how far it is sometimes to get there. It is the promised land of which many great orators have spoken. We must remember the promised land. We must remember what we are fighting for so that we are something more than what we fight. Can you imagine waking up tomorrow with nothing left to fight for? With having achieved the freedom that you want? If we fight too much we become fighters only; And that is not going to be enough to rescue people from the curse of irrationality that the powers that be are inflicting all over the world at all times. Remember the Love. Remember the future. Remember the promised land. Lead people with Inspiration. And fight for something, not against everything.
Thank you my friends.
